When people ask me what my favorite thing to do in Colorado is during the summer, the answer is easy: a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

There’s truly nothing like it. Music echoing off the ancient red sandstone, the moon coming up over the Denver skyline, and the energy of thousands of fans sharing the same moment—it’s pure magic.

One of the reasons I’m so passionate about investing in real estate is because it gives me the freedom to say yes to more of these moments. When you build passive income and long-term wealth, you gain the flexibility to spend your time doing more of what you love. For me, that’s live music—and nothing beats live music at Red Rocks.

If you’re planning to go this summer (and you should), here are my tried-and-true tips for making the most of it:

1. Get There Early and Tailgate

Red Rocks isn’t just a concert venue—it’s an experience. One of my favorite ways to soak it all in is by getting there early and tailgating in the lot. I bring a portable gas grill and cook up brats, hang out with friends, and ease into the evening. It’s cheaper (and better) than concession food, and it makes the whole night feel more like a mini festival.

2. Park in Upper South

This is my go-to lot. It fills up quickly, which is why I make it a point to arrive early, but I think it offers the best access if you’re hoping to get good seats. There's still walking involved—this is Red Rocks—but it's manageable. Plus, they recently added a shuttle service and more bathrooms in that area, making the whole experience smoother.

3. Don’t Forget These Essentials: Water Bottle, Rain Jacket & Koozie

Colorado weather is unpredictable, and Red Rocks is a rain-or-shine venue. I’ve been caught in sudden downpours more than once, so I always pack a lightweight rain jacket just in case. Also:

  • Bring an empty water bottle. You’ll be climbing lots of stairs and dancing—hydration is key.

  • Bring a koozie. Most drinks are sold as tall boys now, and I’m just not a fan of warm beer. A koozie keeps it cold a little longer while you enjoy the music.

4. Use the “Secret” Bathrooms

Here’s a little insider tip that will save you from waiting in long bathroom lines: on the south side of the stage, there’s a second set of bathrooms down the stairs. They’re now marked, but people still walk right past them. Once you know, you know—just don’t tell too many people, okay?

To me, Red Rocks isn’t just a concert—it’s a celebration of summer, community, and being fully alive in the moment. It's where I go to recharge and reconnect.

And it’s also a reminder of why I invest. Real estate has given me more than income—it’s given me freedom. Freedom to enjoy Colorado’s magic without always being tied to a 9-to-5 or stressing over every dollar.

If you're dreaming of building a life with more of the things you love—whether that's live music, travel, or just time with the people who matter—I’d love to help you make that dream come true through smart real estate strategy.
