My family on a recent trip to Disneyland. Disney Trip #7 for my Husband and me!

Not everyone understands the magic of Disneyland. For my family and me, it truly is the happiest place on Earth. There’s something so special about spending days immersed in the joy and wonder of the parks, watching my kids light up as they experience rides, meet their favorite characters, and savor their first churros.

For us, Disneyland is more than just an amusement park—it’s a place of connection. When we’re there, the usual distractions of daily life fade away. We put away our screens and spend full days together, talking, laughing, and making memories. Whether it’s the excitement of riding Dumbo as a family or the simple moments of sharing a dole whip and singling along with the birds in the Tiki Room, every part of the experience brings us closer together.

I’ll be honest, it's not all fun. From walking miles through the parks, to navigating crowds, kid meltdowns, and spending long days in the sun or cold, we often leave completely worn out. And yet, I always come away from these trips feeling more connected to my family than ever. For me, that’s what life is about—those moments of connection, joy, and togetherness.

Having opportunities to create connection and memories with my family is why I invest in real estate. Real estate gives me the freedom and flexibility to prioritize what matters most to me. By investing in assets that generate income and grow in value, I’m able to fund experiences like Disneyland trips and create a lifestyle that allows me to spend quality time with the people I love. Real estate provides the financial stability and opportunity to focus on what truly matters.

I also see real estate investing as a way to create a legacy for my children. When we’re at Disneyland, I’m reminded of the importance of making memories and giving my kids opportunities to experience the world. Through my investments, I’m building something that will benefit them in the future, ensuring that they, too, can prioritize what’s most important in their lives.

Disneyland is more than just a destination for my family; it’s a reminder of why I do what I do. Investing in real estate gives me the ability to create these magical moments, and those moments fuel my motivation to keep building a future that prioritizes connection, joy, and love.

Top Tips for Maximizing Your Disneyland Experience

  1. Check the Crowd Calendar: If you have flexibility, try to book your trip during a less busy time. Lower crowds will make a huge difference in your experience and allow you to enjoy more rides with shorter wait times.

  2. Consider Non-Disney Hotels: There are a huge variety of hotels within walking distance to the park. They are significantly cheaper than booking a Disney hotel. While staying on a Disney property offers perks like 30-minute early park entry, on certain days, and a more immersive magical experience, nearby hotels provide an excellent value and are about the same distance from the park.

  3. Rope Drop: Be in the park before it officially opens and position yourself for rope drop. This strategy lets you head straight to a popular ride and enjoy the shortest line of the day. Plan ahead for which ride you’ll target first—choose one that tends to have long waits later.

  4. Take a Mid-Morning Break: Around 10-11 a.m., when lines start to get longer, take a break to grab food or catch a show. This is a great way to recharge after the flurry of early-morning rides and to avoid the frustration of waiting in long lines during peak times.

  5. Go with the Flow: Don’t stress too much about the lines. It can be tempting to run across the park chasing the shortest wait times, but you’ll have a better experience if you stay flexible and just enjoy the magic. Use the time in line to play games or have meaningful conversations—some of my best memories were made while waiting in line.

I’d love to hear your Disney Park stories or tips—as a Colorado/West Coast girl I am partial to Disneyland. I would love to hear which park you think is the best!
